9th Annual Pittsburgh 5K Walk/Run for Brain Aneurysm and AVM Awareness

Movin' for Mary

Welcome Back!

After a two year pandemic hiatus, the Brain Aneurysm Walk is back in the Burgh! Please consider joining us for the 9th Annual Brain Aneurysm Foundation Walk on team Movin’ for Mary.

Mary Alexiades was the most loving sister, caring aunt, compassionate cousin, and loyal friend to us all. Prior to falling victim to a ruptured brain aneurysm in 2016 and joining her parents in Heaven in 2017, Mary was the glue to her family, friend groups, and community. It would have been no one’s guess that she was walking around living her daily life with a brain aneurysm. The purpose of the Foundation is to raise awareness and fund research so that others like Mary (1 in 50 people) can seek treatment before the aneurysm ruptures. We ask that you consider joining our team by donating, and walking with us on September 17th, to do our small part in saving the many lives at risk.

This fundraiser will provide brain aneruysm awareness, education and support for the brain aneurysm community in Pittsburgh! The route is along the beautiful Allegheny River with a great view of Pittsburgh's skyline. We will gather together to remember and honor friends/family members, meet other survivors, share stories and support the wonderful efforts of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.

OUR MISSION: To promote early detection of brain aneurysms by providing knowledge and
