Hi everyone!
In the spirit of neurosurgical training of the mind, body, and spirit, I have accepted the challenge of racing with Team Cindy this year. No one needs reminding of how devastating ruptured aneurysm are for patients and their families. We continue to make great strides in caring for these patients, but funding for research is essential to this pursuit. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is providing a platform for advocacy for and financial support of aneurysm research. I am happy to support them and hope you will too!
For my training journey, I have learned to swim (punctuated by moments of being convinced I was drowning), how to clip in to a racing bike (not without a few embarrassing falls!), and, perhaps most importantly, how pushing myself to maintain my physical well-being has helped make me be a better person, better resident and a better surgeon! My Team Cindy training has pulled me WAY outside of my comfort zone, but I am seeing great strides of improvement in my physical fitness and mental tenacity that cross over to the OR and to the rest of my life.
Please join me in supporting this great organization. Thank you all!
