We are participating in the 6th Annual TeamCindy 5K Run for Research on September 14, 2019.

My Story

In 2017 I went for an annual kidney check up at Mount Sinia.  Thanks to a great team of vascular doctors at Dr. Olin's office I was diagnosed with 2 internal carotid aneurysms.  This is when I met Dr. MOCCO and his team at the Mount Sinia Nuerosurgery.  From the moment I met him, I knew I was in the best possible hands.  I had a stent put in in 2017 and have been aneurysm free since.  I participate in this 5k every year for 2 reasons.

Reason 1: I am grateful that this was found and I am incredibly grateful for the team of doctors who are why I am here today.

Reason 2:  Awareness, 1 in 50 people will have an aneurysm at some point in their lives, I am one of the lucky ones.  Awareness and self care are key in preventing the catastrophic effects of a ruptured aneurysm.

Please come join me in sharing my gratitude and raising awareness.

About the Event

TeamCindy honors the life of Cynthia Lynn Sherwin and promotes widespread awareness of the dangers of a ruptured brain aneurysm, the sudden and silent killer that took her life and the lives of thousands of others each year. We hope to bring out many participants to raise money for research grants which we give our annually. Please join me!

OUR MISSION: To promote early detection of brain aneurysms by providing knowledge and raising awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors. Work with the medical communities to provide support networks for patients and families, as well as to further research that will improve patient outcomes and save lives.
