Please join me in a 5K, Run for Research on September 14, 2019 to support Brain Aneurysm Awareness!
In June 2017, I ran my first Ultra race, the morning of my Ultra I experienced a SAH Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). I should also note there is no correlation between distance running and the ruptured brain aneurysm.
I still ran and finished the 100K race, a few days later I went to the ER with excruciating head pain. I was at Mt Sinai/ICU for 17 days and out of work for almost 3 months. I am thankful for the amazing team of Dr's (Kellner, Oxley and De Leacy) along with their staff members who took care of me during my time at Mt Sinai. I am here today because of the research conducted from foundations such as BAF.
In the last 2 years, I have continued to run and have been very thankful to complete several half marathons, 5 Marathons, 2 Ragnar Ultra's and a 50 mile trail race. I was incredibly happy to qualify and run Boston Marathon this year along with Big Sur Marathon 13 days later.
Everyone has a story and this is mine, I am a survivor and will never give up on reaching for those goals regardless of the obstacles.
