Why team Lucky Stars
8 years ago I suffered a double brain aneurysm. By the time I sought medical assistance, I fell into a coma. I was minutes away from dying...so yes I have lucky stars looking over me!
My hope is that noone has to go through this and with this race we intent to develop awareness and raise money for research. Hopefully, this will lead to better detection and treatment.
My best reward is to see every year more and more survivors, like me, running or walking with us.
We are participating in the 6th Annual TeamCindy 5K Run for Research on September 14, 2019.
TeamCindy honors the life of Cynthia Lynn Sherwin and promotes widespread awareness of the dangers of a ruptured brain aneurysm, the sudden and silent killer that took her life and the lives of thousands of others each year. We hope to bring out many participants to raise money for research grants which we give our annually. Please join me!
OUR MISSION: To promote early detection of brain aneurysms by providing knowledge and raising awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors. Work with the medical communities to provide support networks for patients and families, as well as to further research that will improve patient outcomes and save lives.
