I am participating in the Stop the Pop Campaign....

because it has always been a struggle for people to understand what a brain aneurysm is. I realize a balloon is a perfect representation of what a brain aneurysm is.  The “popping” of the balloon is a great symbol of a ruptured aneurysm.

So this brings me to my campaign to be an ambassador in my state to raise awareness and education to Stop the Pop!

My goal as an ambassador for the BAF:

  1. First and foremost, I will do what I can locally to raise awareness of this devasting disease affecting 6.5 million Americans daily.

  2. I will help make Stop the Pop go viral by sharing an image/video of me with a red balloon on social media and ask three friends to do the same, and for all to like and share my post.

  3. I will stay in touch with the BAF to know what advocacy initiatives I will be able to support both in my state and on Capitol Hill. It is time to make my voice heard!
I was only 26 when it was discovered that I had not 1, but 3 brain aneursyms. Two of which were leaking and had been for years.  We did not know if I was going to make it through surgery, let alone the night, but by God's grace I did and have had another 23 years watching my son grow and to have a family of his own.

Every day I deal with the invisible disabilities of my brain aneurysm and resulting tramatic brain injury (TBI), as I have aged, these injuries have become more prevalant and interferring with my daily life. Like today, another day, another headache, it is a daily occurance for me and while my doctors and I have been working diligently on a solution, it is not 100%.  My memory definitely has gaps, short term takes the strongest blow, brain fog, focus, trouble with comprehension and more, still haunt me 23 years later.

Our goal is to bring awareness, treatment and may one day a cure.

Remember, brain aneurysms are beatable and treatable!
