Welcome to My BrainPower Page
Hi everyone, As many of you know, I am raising awareness and funds for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation and I have set up a BrainPower Page. I'd like to be able to count on you to make a donation to the organization so that I can help them fulfill their mission. Giving is easy! You can read more about what we do here as well as make a secure donation online.
The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the world's premier nonprofit organization solely dedicated to providing critical awareness, education, support and research funding to reduce the incidence of brain aneurysm ruptures.
All proceeds go towards:
- Funding and supporting new research.
- Providing support and educational materials to the medical community, the newly diagnosed, survivors, family members, friends and the general public regarding the facts, treatment options, and recovery process for brain aneurysms.
- Increasing awareness of brain aneurysms by promoting National Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month in September and by distributing aneurysm awareness materials to Emergency Departments in every hospital and to the community.
With your support, we can start making a real investment to help fight the devastation caused by brain aneurysms and save lives. All donations are tax-deductible and every dollar raised goes to help support the mission of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
If you cannot make a donation at this time, please forward this link to everyone you know. Post this on your Facebook and Twitter pages. Every donation counts, no matter what the amount.
The loss of a loved one is devastating. Yet, we are always reminded by our hearts – how lucky we have been to know those that we loved even in our loss.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated.
My Personal Web Log
Bowling for Brains, 9/22/18
My family and I have scheduled another Bowling for Brains on 9/22/18 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. out at Strike Force Lanes, 1539 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. I grew up out in Greenfield and my father, Ray Morefield, bowls frequently out in leagues at Strike Force. So we are hoping to see a lot of old friends as well as new ones.
$10.00 will get you 3 games AND shoes.
We first came in contact with Aneurysms when we discovered that my mother, Janet Morefield, had one in the fall of 1991. It was successfully clipped in September of 1991. She managed to recover without any therapy assistance or support groups which amazes me every day. A team member during her surgery came out and advised my sisters and I how important it was then that the three of us be scanned because they didn't know then if there was a genetic link with aneurysms. We were all three scanned and came back with "nothing to be concerned about". No one told me that I should probably be re scanned again in another 10 years or so as not only did I have 1 aneurysm, I had two.
The first one started leaking on 6/4/2012. I was rushed to IU Methodist where our phenomenal Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine doctor's performed my first clipping on 6/5/2012. Had to have a clipping on aneurysm #2 10 weeks later so I spent the summer of 2012 heavily sedated and in and out of hospitals and therapy.
My main focus is awareness. WE KNOW HOW TO FIND IF YOU HAVE ONE AND WE KNOW HOW TO FIX IT BEFORE IT RUPTURES AND KILLS OR RUPTURES AND DISABLES YOU FOR LIFE!!!!
Secondly, fundraising dollars are important so that The Brain Aneurysm Foundation can fund the researchers what they need to try and find WHY these are formed and stop them from forming, help those who have survived so that those who do go through this don't have to go through it alone like my mother did, and/or most importantly. . .GENETIC LINK RESEARCH!!!!!
If you don't like to bowl or don't want to, please come out for a visit or even a donation PLEASE!!!!!!
