I'm fundraising for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation!

This year marks the tenth anniversary of my brain aneurysm rupture and subarachnoid hemorrhage.  October 21, 2016 to be exact.  These past few years have been interesting to say the least.  I was at work when it happened, and I quickly lost consciousness after vomiting.  Then my coworkers called an ambulance.  I was taken to the local hospital where I sort of came back to consciousness and they were going to send me home.  But my husband had met us at the hospital and said he could tell I was not myself.  So they gave me a cat scan and saw the bleed.  The weather was horrible lots of heavy rain so they could not take me by medical helicopter, ambulance it was.  I did not remember anything from after I threw up at work.  We arrived by ambulance at a bigger hospital, UMass Worcester hospital.  Again, literally no memory of any of this, although my husband says I was talking.

I was put into an induced coma in ICU which I was in for about six weeks.  I woke up in an inpatient rehab and did not have any idea what had happened or where I was.  My family caught me up.  Another six weeks or so in the rehab and I was released to go home!!!

I could not walk, talk, really do anything when I was in the hospital and rehab.  So I worked on it at the rehab and then with visiting pt professionals that came to the house.

It has been an incredible journey, I am so grateful tor my life.  A lot has changed, like I have some deficits.  I get dizzy quite a bit, I am not as coordinated as I was before, my short-term memory is not great, and I sometimes can't follow what is going on but I am amazed that I am alive.

This year my family and I are doing the Brain Aneurysm Walk and I would love it if any of my friends would like to come !!! Or maybe donate!!!

Well, thank you for your time if you read all of this, and just know I am so incredibly grateful for my life.
