I'm fundraising for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation!

I'll be embarking on my 22nd Annual Walk to raise funds for brain aneurysm research, awareness, and education. This year the Meehan family and I have a goal to raise $10,000 to dedicate a research grant in Chris’ name to honor the 25 year anniversary of his passing.

Every bit helps, big or small and I thank you so much for anything you can contribute! Every year all of you (my friends, family, colleagues, and Chris’ friends, family, and colleagues) are incredibly generous and supportive and I can’t thank you enough!

WHY I SUPPORT BAF

I walk in honor of Chris Meehan. Chris was my light, he was my joy. But I can honestly say that many people felt that way about him. He just had this disarming genuineness about him that people connected with. Chris had the “worst headache of his life” on Thanksgiving day of 2000. A very common symptom of brain aneurysm. He passed away about 6 months later.

No one should have to go through what Chris went through.

Brain Aneurysm impacts 1 in 50. If a brain aneurysm ruptures, 50% of cases results in death. For those that survive, 66% result in permanent neurological deficit.

To this day misdiagnosis is still a very common occurrence (estimated ¾ of patients), and recovery and rehabilitation resources is still sorely lacking.

Brain Aneurysm Foundation (BAF) distributes approximately half a million towards research annually, and at least that amount towards education, support, and awareness. Please know that your contributions support this, and this work is only possible with your support.

I joined the BAF board because of this dedication toward continued growth of philanthropic funding dedicated to research, education, and awareness of brain aneurysm, and advocacy for increased federal funding.

Brain aneurysm is treatable. No one should lose their loved ones to misdiagnosis, or in the difficult journey after being diagnosed.

FOR CHRIS’ FAM AND FRIENDS – WANT TO SEE MORE PICS?

I've posted a bunch of old pictures that I scanned from Chris' many many photo albums. https://www.flickr.com/photos/chrismeehan/

Thank you for your support!!!

Warmly,
Angela
