This marks my 3rd year a survivor
I'm Sherrell, and I’m a brain aneurysm survivor.
In 2022, my life changed forever when I was diagnosed with not one, but two brain aneurysms. Since then, I’ve undergone a ton of brain procedures, including two craniotomies in 2023, and now live with three metal clips in my head and a completely new perspective on life.
But this story actually started much earlier.
When I was just 8 years old, I lost my mother to a brain aneurysm. At that age, I didn’t fully understand what that meant only that my world had been shattered. Years later, I would face the very same diagnosis myself, and suddenly everything came full circle.
By the grace of God, medical care, my friends, family and a whole lot of faith, I am still here.
I’m here for my children.
I’m here for my purpose.
And I’m here to tell my story so that someone else might recognize the signs, get checked sooner, and have a different outcome.
That’s why I’m walking. Why WE are walking!
I’m walking for survivors.
I’m walking for the ones we’ve lost.
I’m walking for families who are still healing.
And I’m walking to help fund research, education, and support so that brain aneurysms don’t keep stealing lives silently.
So many people have never even heard of brain aneurysms until it affects someone they love. Awareness saves lives. Education saves lives. Early detection saves lives.
If you’re able to donate, no amount is too small.
If you can walk with me, I would be honored to have you by my side.
And if you can’t do either, please share my story and help spread awareness.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting me, believing in me, and helping turn my pain into purpose.
With so much love and gratitude,
Sherrell
A message from BAFOUND!
OUR MISSION: To promote early detection of brain aneurysms by providing knowledge and raising awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors. Work with the medical communities to provide support networks for patients and families, as well as to further research that will improve patient outcomes and save lives.
Through your support, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation will be able to continue to provide support and educational materials and information to brain aneurysm patients, their families, and the medical community and to promote critical awareness of brain aneurysms which will lead to earlier detection. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is funding essential research that will promote a better understanding of why this condition happens and identify those at risk before an aneurysm rupture occurs.
Thank you for making a difference with your support!
