Welcome to My Personal Page
I'm a 22-year-old nursing student at the University of Kentucky, and I was just one semester away from graduating when everything changed. Right before the start of my final semester, I was suddenly hit with the worst headache of my life. I had neck pain, couldn't move my neck, had spotty vision, nausea, and vomiting. After being rushed to the hospital, I was diagnosed with a rare brain vertebral artery pseudodissecting aneurysm. I spent two weeks in the hospital and had a stent placed, but even now, the artery where the stent was placed has narrowed, and I remain at risk for stroke. I still struggle with headaches and blurry vision, but I'm incredibly grateful to be here. I had to take six months off from school to recover, but I'm proud to say I've returned to finish my final semester and pursue my dream of being a NICU nurse. I'm sharing my story to raise awareness and support the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
Through your support, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation will be able to continue to provide support and educational materials and information to brain aneurysm patients, their families, and the medical community and to promote critical awareness of brain aneurysms which will lead to earlier detection. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is funding essential research that will promote a better understanding of why this condition happens and identify those at risk before an aneurysm rupture occurs.
Any donation, big or small, means the world. Thank you for making a difference with your support!
