Annette Foks
Annette Foks

I am running this 5K in honor of my life-long best friend, Annette Foks. Annette died of an Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) Brain Aneurysm on July 10th, 2022. Annette's AVM Aneurysm was incredibly rare. Of the 1% of people who have an AVM Aneurysm, she was the 1% of that statistic who's AVM Aneurysm was located in the brain. Annette was about to turn 30 and she had a beautiful life ahead of her. She worked hard and loved her people even harder. Since her death, I have learned how important it is to cherish time with the people I love. I have also reminded myself everyday that it is a privilege to have a healthy body. So with that said, I am running this 5K to lean into that privilege and help raise awareness of an important cause dear to my heart.

Through your support, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation will be able to continue to provide support and educational information to brain aneurysm patients, their families, and the medical community. The Foundation will also be able to promote critical awareness of brain aneurysms which will lead to earlier detection. Annette was in the hospital for 8 days before she passed and it was because of these materials and incredible doctors that we were able to understand what happened to her. Thank you for your support of this incredible foundation!
