I'm fundraising for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation!

Many of you already know my story. I woke up in the early morning on 1/17/23, around 2:30am sweating profusely from my head. I was confused and didn’t know what was going on. I grabbed a towel to wrap around my head to catch the sweat.

I debated about calling 911 but didn’t want to leave my dog Baylee, without anyone able to take care of her. I wasn’t able to fall back asleep either. (Good thing I didn’t as I was told if I did, I definitely wouldn’t have woken up).

Soon after, the nausea and vomiting started and realized I couldn’t walk well, falling on the bathroom floor. Knowing my parents lived close and my mom was an early bird, I somehow waited until 7am and called her. I remember saying “I need you or dad to take me to the hospital”. My parents knew something was really wrong when I asked them that. Dad came to pick me up and I brought a bag with because I kept vomiting.

All I remember was being wheeled in by registration and the dry heaves kicked in. I only remember bits and pieces of the 3wks I spent in neuro ICU. It didn’t really kick in what actually happened until months later.

I survived a ruptured brain aneurysm and found out I had 2 others. I’m forever grateful to still be alive and for my amazing neurosurgeon Dr. Heiferman for saving my life.

OUR MISSION: To promote early detection of brain aneurysms by providing knowledge and raising awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors. Work with the medical communities to provide support networks for patients and families, as well as to further research that will improve patient outcomes and save lives.

Through your support, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation will be able to continue to provide support and educational materials and information to brain aneurysm patients, their families, and the medical community and to promote critical awareness of brain aneurysms which will lead to earlier detection. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is funding essential research that will promote a better understanding of why this condition happens and identify those at risk before an aneurysm rupture occurs.

Thank you for making a difference with your support!
