2025 Philadelphia Run/Walk

Four-ever Friends

We are once again walking in celebration of Tim's recovery from a ruptured brain aneurysm on February 26, 2023. We had no idea he had an aneurysm, and ultimately found out that he has two when one ruptured while he was coaching our son, Charlie?s soccer game. Just a genetic disorder that one never really knows about until they know about it.

2023 was a long year - ambulances, emergency rooms, airlifts, a month in the ICU, three surgeries, at home therapy, outpatient therapy, another outpatient surgery, back in the hospital for another ICU stay. But at the end of that year, Tim went back to work full-time. And now he is back to coaching soccer and managing our younger son's soccer team and doing all the things that dads do. What the what? That is nothing short of a miracle!
It has been a journey filled with more emotions than I sometimes think humans are capable of actually feeling. A journey of fear of the unknown, uncertainty about what would happen, a little hope thrown in, lots of confusion, and so much sadness. But the greatest emotion coming out of the journey is gratitude. Gratitude for the the doctors who saved Tim's life; gratitude for our family and friends (who really are family!) who stepped up and stepped in over and over and over again; gratitude for old friends who we haven't seen in a decade who showed up and showed out with no questions asked; gratitude for the soccer coaches and work friends and teachers and school counselors and high school friends and college friends and neighbors. Gratitude for the donations and snacks and dinners and dog walks and the countless text messages and emails and phone calls. Gratitude for our communities who surrounded us with love and hope and friendship.

We named our team four-ever friends to honor Tim's forever friend, Dr. TJ, who saved his life and to remember how hard he fought to recover from level four aneurysm rupture.
