My Story:

One night in 2010 I woke up with the worst headache of my life. Not to mention I've had migraines since I was 6 yrs old. But this was different. My head felt different my body felt different I was off. I had asked my sister what were her symptoms when she had hers. Completely different. I looked it up I had the usual symptoms. But I thought to myself no not me too!!!. So I tried to play it off. As the days progress my symptoms got worse. It wasn't until I felt numbing come across my face from one side to other. Then I knew I had to get checked. First round of test nothing out of the usual. It was the last test the spinal test that saved my life. We were told shortly after the test that I had some kind of bleeding on the brain. Got transferred that night to another hospital the very next day I was having brain surgery. 

It took sometime to heal but what we didn't know or anticipate was that just 2 yrs later I would have to have another brain surgery. They said the coils from the first surgery have shifted causing a rebleed. This time I would have to be cut open and have the aneurysm clipped. Life for me since 2012 has been a struggle Mentally Emotionally Physically and everything that comes with healing and rebuilding and becoming a newer version of yourself. But thanks to family and close friends. I've been working to becoming a better version of my new self. That's why it's so important to me to bring awareness to this disease because it can be a silent killer with no warning. 

Through your support, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation will be able to continue to provide support and educational materials and information to brain aneurysm patients, their families, and the medical community and to promote critical awareness of brain aneurysms which will lead to earlier detection. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is funding essential research that will promote a better understanding of why this condition happens and identify those at risk before an aneurysm rupture occurs.
