Welcome to TeamJanine!
Hello my friend,
As you know I’ve been recovering from a ruptured brain aneurysm for the past 8 months. The first few months were a challenge (to say the least) but I’m so blessed and grateful to say that I am 98% back to myself!
Most people are not as fortunate. 50% don't make it through the first day, and 60% are left with permanent deficits. We need more research to help understand why this happens and how to prevent it from happening at all.
As well as it's going, my recovery is not over. Since it happened, I’ve had 3 brain surgeries and one angiogram. I have another angiogram scheduled for October. They’ll go through my wrist and up into my brain to make sure everything is okay. (sounds crazy, right?!) This will be a yearly procedure moving forward.
Going through all of this has made me even more grateful to be here, and more determined to give back. That’s why I’m joining forces with the Brain Aneurysm Foundation for their annual Walk/Run event. If you’d like to join me, that would mean the world. Here are a few ways to get involved:
JOIN TeamJanine for the 5k Walk/Run in NYC on Saturday Sept 13. Kids and spouses welcome! I’d be thrilled to have you by my side. And invite anyone you think would love to walk too!
DONATE to our team fundraising. My goal for TeamJanine is $1000 and I know we can make it happen!
CONTINUE TO PRAY for all those going through what I went through. The power of your prayers is STRONG and it helps not only the patients but the family looking after them. (It’s a LOT, y’all!)
I hope you will consider joining me in one (or more) of these ways. You have been a huge part of my healing with your love, support and continuous prayers. I could not have gotten here without you (truth!), and collectively we can help so many more!
With love and gratitude,
Janine
More about the Brain Aneurysm Foundation
OUR MISSION: To promote early detection of brain aneurysms by providing knowledge and raising awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors. Work with the medical communities to provide support networks for patients and families, as well as to further research that will improve patient outcomes and save lives.
Through your support, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation will be able to continue to provide support and educational materials and information to brain aneurysm patients, their families, and the medical community and to promote critical awareness of brain aneurysms which will lead to earlier detection. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is funding essential research that will promote a better understanding of why this condition happens and identify those at risk before an aneurysm rupture occurs.
Thank you for making a difference with your support!
