Welcome to Mel’s Marchers Page
We’re fundraising for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation!
Many in our family had never even heard the words ‘brain aneurysm’ before March 25, 2018. That’s the day we lost Karen Anderson to one that had ruptured. We had just returned home from a wonderful weekend. About 30 minutes later, we were on our way to the local Emergency Room because Karen had collapsed and was unresponsive. She never regained consciousness. She had just turned 60 years old.
Seven years later, we are still grappling with the loss of a daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and most of all, friend. We lost Karen, whose nickname was Mel, and she took with her a piece of our hearts. A kinder, more compassionate person will never be found. Family was everything to her. We will always have a void caused by her death.
If we can help raise awareness of brain aneurysms, maybe, just maybe, we can help to save one family from the pain of losing someone to this sudden and untimely end. Therefore, we’ll be marching to honor her memory. We want to make sure the words ‘brain aneurysm’ ARE on people’s lips and in their minds so the warning signs can be noticed before it’s too late.
Here's to you, Mel! We love you.
