I'm fundraising for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation!
In 2017 when I was 14 years old, constant headaches led to the discovery of a 10mm basilar artery brain aneurysm. I was sent to Phoenix to the best neurosurgeon in the country to undergo a 12 hour craniotomy. My case was more complex than most and required 6 clips to be placed in a picket fence style. After being sent home to recovery my 6 month post-op MRI showed Annie, my aneurysm, was quite aggressive and decided to come back stronger than ever. After 3 more brain surgeries in Phoenix we headed to New York to the doctor who perfected the coiling technique. Another 8 hour surgery and they were finally able to slow Annie down. While Annie is still active I have an amazing team of doctors who monitor me yearly. This had easily been the hardest 7 years of my life but I have learned so much about myself and it has given me the passion to learn more about these neurological diseases to help others. I am incredibly thankful for the support from my 3 teams of doctors and all the love my family and friends have shown me. We all have high hopes that we will receive good news this summer during my next angiogram and pray that Annie finally leaves for good.
Through your support, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation will be able to continue to provide support for patients, their families, and the medical community. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is funding essential research that will promote a better understanding of why this condition happens and identify those at risk before an aneurysm rupture occurs.
Thank you for supporting me and this foundation!
