Welcome to My Personal Page - Chickie's Babes!
I'm fundraising for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation!
Our family started this walk last year in honor of my mom, Kathie "Chickie" Albanese who passed away from this scary disorder and in honor of her sister, my aunt, Marie "ReRe" Procopio, who survived her aneurysm in the nick of time. Neither of them even knew they had any issues until their aneurysms leaked or ruptured, which is the case for many people who suffer from this. It is known as the silent killer and many don't know they have it until it's too late. That is why this fundraiser is near and dear to us, to raise awareness of this deadly disorder. It is considered hereditary, so due to the fact that it happened to two of our immediate family members, we have to keep ourselves in check and make sure it doesn't happen to any of us!
While we raised money and awareness last year - THANKS to people like you, we also had a great time with family and friends walking around Castle Island, also a place that is near and dear to our family!
If you would like to join our team and walk Castle Island with us - we would LOVE to have you! I can tell you one thing, we have a great time for a great cause! IF you can't join us - please consider donating in honor of Chickie and Rere!
We need to keep spreading awareness and raising money for research!!
Thank you for you support!
~Mandy
OUR MISSION: To promote early detection of brain aneurysms by providing knowledge and raising awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors. Work with the medical communities to provide support networks for patients and families, as well as to further research that will improve patient outcomes and save lives.
Through your support, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation will be able to continue to provide support and educational materials and information to brain aneurysm patients, their families, and the medical community and to promote critical awareness of brain aneurysms which will lead to earlier detection. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is funding essential research that will promote a better understanding of why this condition happens and identify those at risk before an aneurysm rupture occurs.
Thank you for making a difference with your support!
