Welcome to Team Mandy
I'm fundraising for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation!
OUR MISSION: To promote early detection of brain aneurysms by providing knowledge and raising awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors. Work with the medical communities to provide support networks for patients and families, as well as to further research that will improve patient outcomes and save lives.
Through your support, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation will be able to continue to provide support and educational materials and information to brain aneurysm patients, their families, and the medical community and to promote critical awareness of brain aneurysms which will lead to earlier detection. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is funding essential research that will promote a better understanding of why this condition happens and identify those at risk before an aneurysm rupture occurs.
In June of 2010 I was awoken atound midnight by an explosion that went off in my head causing me severe pain to my left eye and left temple. I started puking, called my sister for help and she rushed me to Kennedy in Stratford. Upon walking into the ER with my symptoms and sunglasses on around midnight, they took my blood pressure and called a Code on the intercom that had lots of people come rushing in. I was then walked into CT Scan by a doctor that said he wasn't leaving my side. After the scan i was immediately prepped for a lift flight to Jefferson in Philly to have emergency brain surgery due to an aneurysm rupturing. After a quick flight and a 8 hour surgery i awoke to a nurse telling me i had a 7% chance of survival and that there are 65 family members waiting to visit me. I still didn't believe this lady until i saw my brother walk into the room with tears in his eyes. (He never goes in a hospital lol) So after many days in Jefferson, 3 brain surgeries, I'm here to tell my story of how i survived a brain aneurysm and living life to the fullest.
Thank you for making a difference with your support! Please come join me and celebrate me surviving and help support many others.
