Some people leave behind more than memories - they leave behind purpose.
Kati was somehow every good person you knew mixed into one. Knowing her meant understanding steadiness. It was always easy to be around her. She didn’t try to be important - she just was. Losing her left a silence we still notice.
In August of 2020, Kati woke up one morning experiencing stroke-like symptoms. After going to urgent care, testing ruled out a stroke, but imaging revealed a brain aneurysm. She was sent home and scheduled for follow-up care. Before that appointment could happen, on September 5, 2020, Kati passed away unexpectedly at just 28 years old.
In the years since, we’ve gathered around her birthday to remember her in small, private ways. Over time, those moments of remembrance became something more - a shared belief that her story needed to be told, and that awareness could save lives.
That belief became Kati’s Legacy Fund.
Our mission is to honor Kati’s life by raising awareness and funds for brain aneurysm research, education, and support. Brain aneurysms are often silent until it’s too late. By sharing her story, we hope to change that.
All proceeds raised through Kati’s Legacy Fund are donated directly to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
Kati’s story is where this began.
Her legacy is what carries it forward.
