Running for Don

Don and I after finishing a marathon in Virginia Beach, Va., in 2007. It was state No. 4 for me.

By visiting this page, you've probably received an email from me that I am using the completion of a quest to finish a marathon in all 50 states to honor my brother-in-law Don Beardsley. He was one of the folks who influenced me to start running, but sadly, he wasn't in Hawaii in January for the big finish. A brain aneurysm in early 2015 took him from us. My doing races in all of the states or raising money for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation won't ease the loss many of us feel seven years later. Nor what little I raise end the threat of brain aneurysms. But every little bit helps and I thank you for your donation, no matter the size.

The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the world's only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to providing critical awareness, education, support and research funding to reduce the incidence of brain aneurysm ruptures.

All proceeds go towards:

  • Funding and supporting new research.
  • Providing support and educational materials to the medical community, the newly diagnosed, survivors, family members, friends and the general public regarding the facts, treatment options, and recovery process for brain aneurysms.
  • Increasing awareness of brain aneurysms by promoting National Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month in September and by distributing aneurysm awareness materials to Emergency Departments in every hospital and to the community.

Thank you very much for your donation.
