Phillip Dean Gustafson
Phil was born in Grand Rapids, MI on September 22, 1961, son of the late, Pastor Glen and Rosemary (Brink) Gustafson. He married Dorothy Peters on May 29, 1982. Phil was lead mechanic at Suski Chevrolet Buick for 28 years, and very faithful in his church, Community Baptist of Davison.
He was loyal, loving, industrious, and abundantly talented. He loved his family, and was the epitome of an extremely hard working provider. Many remember him not only by his many skills and ability to do just about anything, but for his generosity in helping others. His earthly life abruptly ended as a result of a "silent" brain aneurysm and pronounced brain dead January 2, 2012.
He left behind his wife of 29 years, Dorothy, four sons, Michael, Steven, Christopher, and Cody; granddaughter, Hannah; grandsons, Michael, Aidan, Hayden, Alexander, Hudson, and Oliver; brother, Tim Gustafson of Grand Rapids.
This fundraising page was started in his memory on the date of his 60th birthday to help support awareness and prevention of brain aneurysm's. It is our wish to carry on his memory for our lifetime and more through donation to support research, awareness and prevention of this terrible "silent killer" for other families.
As mentioned, Phil was someone who was always available to help and use his skills to help others. As his last contribution on earth, he donated organs to several individuals through the Gift of Life Michigan. His life has resurrected the life of others, his heart continues to beat, his lungs continue to breathe life to this day although they're in another body. More importantly his spirit lives on through us all!
We ask that if his life was a blessing to you or you feel touched by his life, join us in remembering him on his birthday each year. Donate to here to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation, or donate to the Gift of Life Michigan here: https://giftoflifefoundationmi.org/contribute-now/
We appreciate all of you who were a part of his life, and everyone who keeps his memory living on!
