In loving memory of Gail Ann Junnila

Donate Now

It is with great sadness the Junnila family announces the passing of Gail Ann Junnila, aged 65 from Calgary Alberta, Canada. Gail passed away quietly on the 22nd of July 2020 as the result of a brain aneurysm. She was born in Calgary, AB June 27, 1955. She Graduated from Lord Beaverbrook High School in 1973. Gail started work as a teenager in a punch card room when computers were the size of a bus, and eventually settled into a career in hotel housekeeping, working at the Delta Calgary South hotel for an astounding 37 years of service. Gail lived a simple life, enjoying quiet time at home, with Don, her life partner of 20 years. Gail was a very proud mother of her one child Leanne. Gail will be remembered for her kind and gentle soul, and her bright ginger hair. She is survived by her Daughter Leanne Junnila, Mother Dorothy Ann Junnila, two brothers Steve and Brian Junnila, and her life partner Don Judd.

She will be missed by many more.

Information about your donation in Gail's Memory:

The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the world's only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to providing critical awareness, education, support and research funding to reduce the incidence of brain aneurysm ruptures.

All proceeds go towards:

  • Funding and supporting new research.
  • Providing support and educational materials to the medical community, the newly diagnosed, survivors, family members, friends and the general public regarding the facts, treatment options, and recovery process for brain aneurysms.
  • Increasing awareness of brain aneurysms by promoting National Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month in September and by distributing aneurysm awareness materials to Emergency Departments in every hospital and to the community.

Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated.
