The Sherry James Memorial Page
A seamstress who loved Disney World, enjoyed watching wrestling (Lakeview High School and Penn State University), soaked up every minute of the sun she could while reading a book, an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and the best at all her roles in life - daughter, sister, wife,
daughter-in-law, mother, aunt, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend.
To know Sherry Ann Morton James was to love her.
On Saturday June 8th, 2019, Sherry was life-flighted to UPMC Presby after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage. Our family stayed up almost all night waiting to hear from the neurosurgeon. We were told Sunday morning that there was nothing they could do - the aneurysm had ruptured in her brain stem. She was pronounced brain dead on Monday, June 10th, 2019 and our family will never be the same.
Sherry was able to save three lives with her liver and both kidneys as well as help two people to see with her corneas, through organ donation thanks to CORE (Center for Organ Recovery & Education).
The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the world's only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to providing critical awareness, education, support and research funding to reduce the incidence of brain aneurysm ruptures.
All proceeds go towards:
- Funding and supporting new research.
- Providing support and educational materials to the medical community, the newly diagnosed, survivors, family members, friends and the general public regarding the facts, treatment options, and recovery process for brain aneurysms.
- Increasing awareness of brain aneurysms by promoting National Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month in September and by distributing aneurysm awareness materials to Emergency Departments in every hospital and to the community.
With your support, we can start making a real investment to help fight the devastation caused by brain aneurysms and save lives. All donations are tax-deductible and every dollar raised goes to help support the mission of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
If you cannot make a donation at this time, please forward this link to everyone you know. Post this on your Facebook page. Every donation counts, no matter what the amount.
