Welcome to Peg's Memorial Page
While Peg did not pass away from a brain aneurysm, aneurysm research is very near and dear to my family. My Grandmother, Peg (Margaret) Morgan, miraculously survived not only 1, but 2 ruptured brain aneurysms. While most people don’t even survive 1, this world was not ready to say goodbye to this wonderful woman and she held on through another one, some forty years later. Our family was told that she most likely would not survive without surgery, yet there was a chance that she also would not survive the surgery. Our family gathered around and with the priest by her side, we pretty much said our good byes before she went in for another surgery. Well, Gram was not ready to give up. She amazingly pulled through and lived another 10+ years of enjoying her family, and her desserts!
When I was in high school, my mother informed us that she had a brain aneurysm and would be going in for surgery. Being the strong mother that she was, she did not want her children to worry so she didn’t explain the severity of what she was going through. She was fortunate enough to pull through. A few weeks later, a friend called me and said that her aunt had a brain aneurysm. I told her not to worry because my mother and grandmother each had one and they are both fine! Well, her story did not end the same. Her aunt did not survive her surgery and passed away at a young age. It was at that point that my mother explained to us how serious they typically are.
Gram was later part of a study for aneurysm research. While we were so fortunate to have her with us a lot longer than most, others are not so lucky. I personally know so many people who have been negatively affected by brain aneurysms and would take comfort in knowing that this incredible woman would be contributing to research to hopefully save more lives.
**The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the world's only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to providing critical awareness, education, support and research funding to reduce the incidence of brain aneurysm ruptures.
All proceeds go towards:
- Funding and supporting new research.
- Providing support and educational materials to the medical community, the newly diagnosed, survivors, family members, friends and the general public regarding the facts, treatment options, and recovery process for brain aneurysms.
- Increasing awareness of brain aneurysms by promoting National Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month in September and by distributing aneurysm awareness materials to Emergency Departments in every hospital and to the community.
With your support, we can start making a real investment to help fight the devastation caused by brain aneurysms and save lives. All donations are tax-deductible and every dollar raised goes to help support the mission of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
Every donation counts, no matter what the amount.
The loss of a loved one is devastating. Yet, we are always reminded by our hearts – how lucky we have been to know those that we loved even in our loss.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated.
