Brain Aneurysm Foundation

This Memorial is created in memory of my mom, Aileen Hanes, who passed away unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm rupture on September 9, 2015. My mission is to keep her spirit alive by sharing her story and raising awareness about aneurysms in hopes that one day, no family has to lose a loved one. 

Aileen was an integral part of our small community. Aside from being a mother, wife, daughter, and sister; she was a business owner, a softball coach, a volunteer, an athlete, a friend, and a list of other things. Her loss was felt by all that knew and loved her. She was genuine and authentic, usually working behind the scenes so that others could succeed. If she were still here today, she'd join in our fight against aneurysms even if it meant saving just one life other than her own. 

My business, Kristy's Krystal Klean Kars, has created a fundraising event that's held annually at the beginning of September. Our Annual Car Wash Fundraiser is more than just a simple car wash, providing fun for the entire family. As it continues to grow each year, we're able to donate more to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. In September of 2024, we donated $6,800 from this one-day event. 

The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the world's only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to providing critical awareness, education, support and research funding to reduce the incidence of brain aneurysm ruptures. All proceeds go towards funding and supporting new research; providing support and educational materials to the medical community, the newly diagnosed, survivors, family members, friends and the general public regarding the facts, treatment options, and recovery process for brain aneurysms; and increasing awareness of brain aneurysms by promoting National Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month in September and by distributing aneurysm awareness materials to Emergency Departments in every hospital and to the community.
